On Wednesday, November 19, the Charles Sadron Institute inaugurated a joint laboratory called ActivIAflow, the result of a collaboration between Flow Chemistry and Artificial Intelligence.

A joint laboratory, or LabCom', is a space for exchange in the form of a collaborative space made available to both parties.  Located at the Charles Sadron Institute (UPR 22), ActivIAflow aims to bring industry and academic research closer together.  The goal is to revolutionize flow chemistry by integrating artificial intelligence.  Two areas of research are being prioritized: (1) the use of enzymes trapped in polymer foams and (2) the modification of these foams for the decontamination of trace amounts of heavy metals.

This joint laboratory is led by Prof. Loïc Jierry, a chemist specializing in molecular assemblies at the Charles Sadron Institute, and Philippe Robin, President of Alysophil.  The implementation of ActivIAflow has benefited from the support of the Carnot MICA Institute.
